Sorry about the log in instructions, I was wrong! However, usually this kind of ingredient list would indicate that all DRY ingredients should be mixed together. ADD the vanilla to the chocolate while it is melting. Mix the melted chocolate and vanilla with the dry ingredients thoroughly. Beat the egg whites till they are stiff. Gently fold the egg whites into the rest of the ingredients so that you do not loose the air whipped into the egg whites. I am guessing to bake it at 350 degrees and check how it is doing after 30 min. and every 10 min till it is done. This could be baked in two rounds or one big flat that is cut into pieces later. The jam and confectioners sugar are for the filling with the berries. If you puree the raspberries their flavor is magnified so much that you may not need the confectioners sugar except to sprinkle on top as needed. If you use the berries whole, use some in the middle filling and save some for the top. Use the filling mixture between layers of the rounds or of individual squares cut from the large flat sheet.
