Making your own spice blends is a great way to use all of those spices in your spice rack! Use this in Indian recipes and add at the end of cooking.
|
1 | Place cumin, coriander, peppercorns, cardamom, cloves and cinnamon in a skillet over medium-high heat. |
2 | Cook until spices start to smoke and become aromatic. Constantly shake skillet for about 5 minutes then stir in nutmeg. |
3 | Remove from heat and let cool completely. |
4 | Place toasted spices in a spice or cleaned out coffee grinder and grind until finely ground. |
5 | Store in an airtight container. Suggested uses: Use as a spice rub over your favorite meats like chicken, pork, beef or seafood. |
6 | Yield: 1/4 cup. Serving Size: 1 teaspoon. |
7 | ENJOY! |
