Celebrities and Diet

Who is on the cover of this month’s FHM magazine and what did they do with Brooke Hogan?

On the cover of this month’s FHM magazine is reality TV star and now recording artist Brooke Hogan from “Hogan Knows Best.” She is the teenage daughter of famed WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan. Not only is she the first under-21 model to grace across the front page, but she appears incredibly photoshopped!

As a fan of the VH1 Celeb-reality TV show, Brooke seems down to earth and miles away from Lohan-esque antics. Her new song is annoying but I don’t really even care. What I care about is why FHM asked her to be on the cover of their magazine if they were just going to airbrush the heck out of the photo? It’s not like she suddenly pulled a fast one on us and went on a crash diet. I saw her just last week in US weekly magazine shaking her curves down the red carpet. It’s good to see celebrities that aren’t super-skinny like Nicole Richie to be portrayed as sexy but let’s be honest and show what Hogan actually looks like.

It’s hard enough for us “normal people” to look at movie stars looking great with their personal chefs and trainers, but do we have look at airbrushed photos of the fuller figured stars just to hammer in that it’s not ok to have an extra five pounds on your frame?

Katie Couric recently griped about CBS airbrushing promotional photo’s for her new stint on the nightly news. She was angry they made her appear to be slimmer. It’s been known for a long time that magazines often re-touch photos but what do you think? I think as long as people know these photo’s are not real, it brings more attention to the fact that there is too much pressure in Hollywood to look a certain way. Let it all hangout. Who cares anymore? If people want to starve themselves, it’s their own health and misery. Hollywood is guilty of creating the illusion of a perfect body when it is actually unattainable for most, even Brooke Hogan.

I have been reading through all of your blogs and you're hitting the nail on the head. I like how you throw in a little bit of comic relief. I'm not finished yet so I'm going to continue reading your other blogs.
