The Huffington Post recently put out an article about diet myths and fad diets. I've started out 2013 talking about diets and quick fixes, and if you've read any of them, you know how I feel about them. :) I am in agreement with this Huffington Post article because it gives very simple and concrete reasons that debunk all of those fad diets.
The appeal of these diets is that they provide results. But how many of you have tried some of these diets, and the minute you come off of them the weight is right back on?
The problem is, that most of the popular diets out there have very specific rules to follow and tend to exclude certain nutrients or food groups altogether. Like I've said time and time again, the key to real and successful weight loss is by doing it the well-balanced way: portion control and exercise. If a diet seems too good to be true, or has so many rules that it's a full time job, or forbids certain foods, then it's probably not a sustainable diet.
