I am returning to exercise after a serious horseback riding injury this past Oct. I just now got released from the Dr. to start very minimal exercise. Today I added 5 more minutes to my recumbent bike routine which is the only aerobic exercise my Dr. says is OK for me to do right now. Sometimes I feel frustrated because I compare what I can do now to what I could do a year ago- before my accident. Today while I was working out I realized that this time 3 months ago I could only walk using a walker. That made me feel great knowing that all the tiny little steps, all the pain and hard work is actually making a difference. Losing the extra weight can only help in my rehab and in every other aspect of life. I am getting healthier even if it's only 5 more minutes a day
